Traffic is still moving slowly on northbound Interstate 77 in northern Mecklenburg County after an earlier wreck that temporarily closed a northbound lane.
Crews closed the left lane of I-77 north near exit 25 for Sam Furr Road for about a half-hour after one wreck. It reopened shortly after 8:40 a.m, though it was still causing problems in the area. Traffic is moving at an average speed of 30 miles per hour between exits 18 and 25.
Elsewhere, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are still on the scene of multiple wrecks across the city. That includes one at the intersection of East Independence and Westchester boulevard, and another on University City Boulevard at the ramp for the I-485 outer loop.
A little further down on Independence, a wreck has temporarily closed a portion of two inbound lanes near Albemarle Rd.
