North Carolina residents who join the Arbor Day Foundation by Jan. 31 can get 10 flowering trees with a $10 donation.

New members will receive two white flowering dogwoods, two flowering crabapples, two Washington hawthorns, two American redbuds and two goldenrain trees.

The trees will be shipped with instructions at planting time, between Feb. 1 and May 31. The 6- to 12-inch trees will be replaced free of charge if they do not thrive.

Members also receive a subscription to the Foundation’s bimonthly publication, “Arbor Day,” and a copy of “The Tree Book,” which includes information about tree planting and care.

To join and receive the trees, send $10 to Ten Free Flowering Trees, Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410. Sign up online at http://tinyurl.com/9e76sw.
