The winner: To store my paper towels out of the way and save space, I bought a plastic hanging shoe caddy for $9.99 and hung it in our garage. It holds 10 rolls of paper towels, When I need a roll I just open my garage door and there it is hanging from a shelf. Joyce Cantwell, Huntersville
Bag your boots
When putting rubber galoshes on grown-ups or children, use a plastic bag from the produce section. The boots will slide on more easily. This way, children can do it by themselves, which makes everyone proud. Sylvia Schwartz, Charlotte
Save money on ice
I have three kids, active in sports, school and church. We regularly have to take a cooler of drinks to some event. Rather than constantly having to buy a bag of ice or deplete my ice maker, I always have premade ice in the freezer. When done with a margarine or cottage cheese container, I wash it out, then fill with water and keep in the freezer until needed. Debbie Miller, Charlotte
