Woman charged in I-77 high-speed chase

CORNELIUS Police arrested a 26-year-old Charlotte woman they said was involved in a drug-related chase Jan. 8 that reached 100 mph on Interstate 77 before police stopped the pursuit at Exit 23 in Huntersville, out of concern for the safety of other motorists.

Police charged Andre Renee McCarroll with felony speeding to elude arrest, misdemeanor assault on a government employee, misdemeanor resisting public officer, no operator’s license, reckless driving and speeding.

According to a search warrant, the car left a house in the 21200 block of Harken Drive. The 2-story brick house overlooks Lake Norman.

Last week, police arrested Tyron Durham, 43, who is from Trinidad but living in Richmond Hills, N.Y.; and Sean Younger, 43, who was living at the Harken Drive residence. Both were charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver, and with maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of selling and delivering a controlled substance.
