Autism conference sign-ups: Registration now available for The Autism Society of North Carolina’s annual conference, Autism Grows Up, Feb. 8-9 at the Hilton University Place. Preschool open house: Parents of 2- to 5-year-olds are invited to attend an open house 10 a.m.-noon Jan. 25 at Piedmont Progressive Preschool. 49ers blood drive: UNC Charlotte is teaming with the American Red Cross for the fourth annual 49ers for Life blood drive 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Jan. 22 in the Student Activities Center. Donors will get a free pint of Blue Bell ice cream and a T-shirt. People who sign up by Jan. 18 and keep their appointments will be entered to win a tablet.
