Construction is causing a number of road and lane closured Monday across the Charlotte region.
Motorists are reminded that last Thursdays heavy rain caused a change in plans for repairs at rail crossings on several southeast Charlotte streets. And a rail crossing in Matthews is closed today due to repair work.
Rama Road ... Through traffic between Monroe and Sardis roads must detour, because Rama Road remains closed at the rail crossing. Officials had planned to reopen the road for the three-day holiday weekend, but the rain changed that.
Thermal Road ... This road also remains closed at the rail crossing.
Tank Town Road, Matthews ... CSX is working on the crossing today, and it was closed at 8 a.m. The access road from Tank Town to Matthews School Road is open, however.
West Tyvola Road ... The left westbound lane and left eastbound lane of Tyvola Road near Paul Buck Boulevard remains closed this week, for new curb construction. The lanes are scheduled to reopen at 7 a.m. Feb. 4.
