A Kannapolis woman was killed Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of North Cannon Boulevard and Solution Works Drive.
According to Kannapolis Police officials, Dee Christy Shuping, 60, was crossing North Cannon Boulevard from the northbound lane in her motorized wheelchair around 6:30 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle traveling south. Emergency personnel responded, but Shuping was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Neither speed or alcohol were suspected to have been involved, according to police, and no charges have been filed against the driver.
