Concord police probe fatal stabbing

Concord police say no charges have been filed yet in a fatal stabbing Monday afternoon.

According to police, officers were called shortly after 4 p.m. to the 300 block of Heatherwood Court, to an apartment building on a short horseshoe-shaped street near the Concord Parkway-Davidson Highway intersection.

Police and medics found 23-year-old Desmond Travon Cox dead at the scene. Investigators say he had been stabbed.

“The investigation at this point indicates the people involved in the dispute were acquainted with each other,” Deputy Chief Allen Overcash said.
