STEELE CREEK An experienced builder in the York County and Steele Creek communities is back at it again, with more homes for a southwest Charlotte neighborhood and a new development near Tega Cay.
M/I Homes plans to bring more homes to Huntington Forest in Steele Creek, near RiverGate. The residential development will grow by 59 homes. It is set for construction this summer.
“Details on pricing and home plans are still being finalized,” said Tamara Lynch, vice president of sales and marketing.
Expected are both ranch and two-stories from 2,300 to more than 4,000 square feet. Homes should have three to six bedrooms, two or more baths and two-car garages. All will be Energy Star certified.
Last week, M/I Homes received preliminary plat approval form the York County planning commission for four land parcels near Gold Hill Road. The Hawk’s Creek development totals more than 71 acres. The properties are just outside of Tega Cay city limits, off Gold Hill, east of Zimmerman Drive.
According to county land records, M/I Homes purchased three of the parcels on Dec. 21 for $1.75 million, and the other five days later for $570,000. Expected are two styles of homes, a two-story with three to five bedrooms and two-car garages and larger, mostly ranch homes, with back porches and sunroom options.
The two-stories will be 2,182 to 3,133 square feet.
“We expect the average price to be in the upper $200s or very low $300s,” Lynch said.
The cottage homes, with options for a second story, will be 2,019 to 3,220 square feet priced in the lower $300s.
M/I Homes is familiar with the area having built, among other areas, at Creekshire Village and Creekshire Estates on Zoar Road, about halfway between the two new projects.
