Weather postpones SAT exams

Concerns about icy conditions on Saturday morning have caused officials to postpone SAT exams for many students across the Charlotte region.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said that all SAT testing that was scheduled to occur on its campuses on Saturday have been cancelled. Officials at Wingate University made a similar announcement this afternoon.

The make-up day for the exams will be Feb. 16.

SAT exams have also been pushed back at three other area schools – Central Cabarrus High School, Hickory Ridge High School and West Caldwell High - according to the College Board website. A spokesman said those closings were not related to today’s storm, but had been previously rescheduled for another reason. The new makeup date is also Feb. 16.

CMS said students will get an email about the cancellation from The College Board. Families also can get more information at www.sat.collegeboard.org
