Seats still available in ‘Civics 101’

Seats are still available for the League of Women Voters’ Civics 101 classes.

The classes offer a close-up look at the branches of local government. This year’s five classes start Feb. 5 and end March 5. They feature looks at city and county government, schools, courts and the district attorney and the Observer, with visits and expert analysis.

Most classes are at the government center at 600 E. Fourth St. Classes are from 6 to 8:45 p.m. The cost is $40 and includes a “graduation” dinner at the Charlotte Observer.

To register, or for information, go to goleaguego.org or call Jean Burke at 704-892-7506. Jim Morrill
