Huntersville fire officials say they extinguished a small fire Monday afternoon at a building on the property of the McGuire Nuclear station near Lake Norman.
The fire was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m., and a spokesman for the Huntersville Fire Department said the blaze was in a brick building that contained communications equipment. That building was outside the plant’s operation area, authorities say.
Damage was confined to a heating/air conditioning unit, officials say.
