Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they have arrested a man in connection with three home burglaries and another larceny case last week.
Police say Antonio Aguilar, 24, faces three counts of residential breaking and entering; and one count each of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny, and resisting officers.
Investigators say the arrest followed a tip from a neighbor.
Police say they were called Friday by a person who reported seeing someone break into a home in the 1100 block of Spring Laurel Drive, in the Wilgrove community north of Albemarle Road, between Harrisburg Road and Interstate 485.
When the first officer arrived at the scene, police say, the witness provided information about the suspect and the vehicle he was in. That police officer quickly spotted the vehicle and stopped it.
As a result of the investigation, police say they linked Aguilar to two other break-ins on Spring Laurel Drive, and an auto break-in the same day on nearby Spring Ridge Lane.
“This case illustrates how critical it is for police and the community to work together,” said Rob Tufano, a spokesman for Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
Investigators ask that anyone with information about these cases contact Crime Stoppers, 704-334-1600 or http://charlottecrimestoppers.com.
