Anyone interested in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools progress toward drafting a teacher performance pay plan can attend a meeting at River Gate Elementary, 15340 Smith Road, on Thursday.
A group of CMS employees has been working on a proposal to submit to the N.C. Department of Public Instruction by March 1. As part of a federal Race to the Top grant, the state will revise its pay system to reward highly effective teachers and principals.
The meeting to field questions and take public comments will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the school, which is near the state line in southwest Charlotte. CMS administrators plan to present a proposal to the school board on Feb. 26. Ann Doss Helms
