Rock Hill man wins $200,000 in lottery for second time

ROCK HILL A Rock Hill man has won $200,000 for the second time in four months. What makes this repeat win even more incredible, and quite possibly a lottery first, is that both wins came on the same instant game purchased from retailers less than a mile apart.

The winner beat the 1 in 440,000 odds on the $10 The Color of Money game in September at the MR Express 2 on Ebenezer Rd. and again this week at the Elliots Exxon on Cherry Rd. He won two of the six top prizes in the game, according to lottery officials.

“This is so weird,” said the winner, whose name was not released.

“This is crazy,” his wife said. “He’s in shock."

For him, the second win is the sweetest.

It’s erased his retirement worries, while the first win took care of his kids’ college education.

“I’m done playing,” he said grateful for the luck he’s had and can’t explain.

“He just has a good energy around him,” said he’s wife. “He’s always been lucky, because he married me.”

For selling the claimed ticket, Elliots Exxon in Rock Hill received a commission of $2,000.
