Lanes open after I-77 wreck that hospitalized one

Vehicle fire on I-485 blocks lanes

All lanes on Interstate 77 northbound were open but congested just after 6 p.m. following a multi-vehicle wreck at Nations Ford Road at 4:30 p.m.

The crash left one person in the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

The wreck occurred around mile marker three and was expected cause significant traffic delays, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Medic transported one person to Carolinas Medical Center-Main for treatment.
