Burn Boot Camp: Owner and trainer Devan Kline held a grand opening on Feb. 2 for his 5,000-square-foot Burn Boot Camp headquarters at 311 Gilead Road, Huntersville. Burn Boot Camp caters to moms determined to get fit.

Since opening in May 2012, Burn Boot Camp has grown to about 300 clients, who have lost a combined thousands of pounds at Burn Boot Camp’s 71 camps in Mooresville, Cornelius, Huntersville and Mallard Creek, Kline said.

Burn Boot Camp has the latest in fitness equipment, including kettle bells, battling ropes, suspension training, smash balls, Bosu balls, sand bags, stability balls and agility ladders. The new facility also features a state-of-the-art micro-foam floor that protects athletes’ knees with its rebounding support, Kline said.

Insley Photography: Professional Lake Norman portrait photographer Alicia Smith of Sherrills Ford-based Insley Photography recently completed the “Making Memories Newborn Posing” workshop presented in Cary by Memories by TLC. The annual workshop is only to eight photographers and teaches new photography techniques and shares newborn prop and pose ideas. Iredell Health System: Iredell Health System will host “A Little Fib Can Lead to a Big Problem,” a program discussing Atrial fibrillation, a heart condition that puts a person at five times greater risk for stroke. Jennings honored: Abigail Jennings, president of Lake Norman Realty Inc., received the Robert T. Cashion Business Person of the Year Award at the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Awards Banquet on Jan. 24.

In 2012, the agency was recognized as one of the Charlotte region’s largest real estate companies and the largest female-owned real estate company, according to The Charlotte Business Journal. Lake Norman Realty also was ranked fourth overall in Charlotte as a Best Place to Work and a top finalist for the sixth year in a row.

The firm’s luxury home division made regional real estate history with two record-breaking sales of $4.4 million and $7.5 million. Its commercial division increased 29 percent in sales volume, property management a 9 percent increase and overall sales volume 60 percent over 2011. Its customer satisfaction rate was 99.5 percent from surveyed seller and buyer clients.

New hospital directors: Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville recently added directors Cathy Dickey and Julian Bell to its staff. Dickey is the new health information management, and Bell is the environmental service director.

Dickey has worked in health care for 30 years, most recently as a system director of health information management at Appalachian Regional Healthcare Systems in Boone.

Bell has been with HHS for two years as a director of environmental services.
