Most lanes were open just before 5 p.m. Friday after a multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 85 northbound near the Mallard Creek exit had shut down all of the lanes an hour earlier.
Two people were taken to the hospital after the crash, one with life-threatening injuries and another with potentially life-threatening injuries.
The wreck involved a motorcycle at mile marker 45, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
