“Many of my clients are women,” said Cajun Canvas owner Karen Preston. “This is my way of honoring them and promoting awareness about the Go Red movement which empowers them to lead healthier lives.”
Three events are planned to promote American Heart Month.
• Feb. 7 is GRFW BFF Night Out. Paint with friends and support the fight against heart disease.
• Feb. 9 is Dads and Daughters, Dads and Lads. Bring sons or daughters, and paint the perfect picture for mom. A special Go Red gift included with each package.

Heart Gala Feb. 14 in Rock Hill
ROCK HILL To celebrate National Heart Month and the launch of a new initiative in York County, The Heart2Heart Foundation will be holding its inaugural Heart Gala on Valentine’s Day at the Palmetto Room at the Old Town Bistro on Main Street.
The evening will feature a wine tasting by CHL Wines, heart-healthy dinner by The Old Town Bistro, live music by The Tim Hartis Group, dancing, a silent auction and a complimentary Valentine photograph.

The event is presented by Piedmont Medical Center Heart & Vascular Center.

Grants available for nonprofits
ROCK HILL The York County Community Foundation is accepting applications from eligible nonprofit organizations, congregations, governmental and educational institutions for its 2013 grants program. Priority will be given to arts and culture, education, environment, health and human services.

Tickets on sale for Clover Premiere Party
CLOVER Tickets are now available for the town of Clover’s Premiere Party at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Larne Building in downtown Clover. The party is part of the town 125th anniversary celebration.
The new “Clover 2012” movie will make its debut at the party. In addition, a new Clover Hall of Fame will be unveiled with a Clover Through the Years exhibit. The event will include heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
