ROCK HILL Three half-sisters hopped into a car Saturday and chased their fourth sister from Rock Hill to Chester after the woman allegedly hit one of them with a car following an argument about badmouthing family members, police say.
The woman, 29, was treated and released from Piedmont Medical Center, hospital officials said. But, before that, she and two of her sisters drove on S.C. 72 towards Chester, chasing the 33-year-old woman who said bad things about the family while at Saluda Auto Saturday afternoon.
Someone from the auto repair shop called the 29-year-old woman, telling her that her half-sister was talking about relatives. That’s when the woman, along with her two other sisters, 24 and 27, arrived at the store and began arguing with their half-sister.
The half-sister, who lives in Chester with two of the women, got into her car. The sisters followed. One of them told the woman to get out of the car if she wanted to fight. Instead, the Chester woman hit her sister with the car, smacking her with the car’s front left bumper, left side mirror and the still-open driver’s side door, the report states. The woman then fled the scene.
The others began to chase their sister in the car while on the phone with 911, the report states. Rock Hill Police transferred the call to the Highway Patrol when the sisters crossed over into Chester County.
The women were unable to catch up with their sister — even while they waited for her at their Chester home — so they drove back to Rock Hill, where the woman hit by the car received treatment at Piedmont.
Though police didn’t see any injuries, she complained of chest and back pain, numbness in her right arm and a swollen leg, the report states.
