Charlotte hospitals lift flu restrictions

Charlotte-area hospitals in Carolinas HealthCare System are lifting their restrictions on visitors under age 12, starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday.

They report a significant drop in the number of patients with flu-like symptoms.

During the week of Jan. 21, the last week measured, 467 patients with flu-like symptoms were treated in the emergency departments of the system’s Charlotte-area hospitals, compared to a high of 1,556 patients during the week of Dec. 8. Karen Garloch
