No injuries in SE Mecklenburg fire

A house fire was reported about 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at a residence in the 3500 block of Darlington Road. DAVIE HINSHAW - dhinshaw@charlotteobserver.com

No injuries were reported Wednesday morning when fire damaged a home in southeast Mecklenburg County near the Union County line.

The fire was reported about 8:45 a.m. at a residence in the 3500 block of Darlington Road. That is in a neighborhood off McKee Road, east of Weddington Road, near the Plantation Market shopping center and the Siskey YMCA.

Charlotte fire Capt. Rob Brisley said it took a crew of 31 firefighters a little more than 20 minutes to put out the blaze.

The family was displaced by the fire.
