Zion UMC

Pancake supper: Zion United Methodist Church in Monroe will host an Ash Wednesday pancake supper 5:30-7 p.m. Feb. 13 to raise money for their youth program. Donations will be accepted at the door. Relay for Life

Fundraisers: Relay for Life of Ballantyne is hosting several fundraising events now through May 31 with proceeds going to ACS Relay for Life which “Celebrates, Remembers and Fights Back” against cancer. McAlister’s Deli in Blakeney, 9864 Rea Road, will donate 10 percent of all profits made 5-9 p.m. Feb. 13. Dog Wash Canine Café, 125 Remount Road, will provide dog washes from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Feb. 23 for $15 each with all profits benefiting Relay for Life. Details: www.relayforlife.org/ballantynenc.

Pancakes for a Purpose

Fight Pancreatic cancer: For the third year in a row, Tammi Brady of south Charlotte will hold an Applebee’s Flapjack Fundraiser 7:30-10 a.m. Feb. 23 at Applebee’s near Stonecrest, 5110 Piper Station Drive. The event raises money for Pancreatic Cancer research with all proceeds donated to The Lustgarten Foundation. Brady’s late husband, David Anstadt, died of pancreatic cancer at age 43. Tickets are $8 each for breakfast and can be purchased at www.pancakesforapurpose.org. You can also donate on the website if unable to attend.

Easter Seals UCP

Banana pudding sales: On Feb. 15 and 22, Lola’s Restaurant at 300 S. Brevard St., will give proceeds from their banana pudding sales to benefit Easter Seals UCP – a nonprofit that provides lifelong programs and services to children and adults with disabilities in the Charlotte area. Lola’s is open 7-10 a.m. and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Details: www.eastersealsucp.com.

Salvation Army

Souper Bowl and bake sale: The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary & Shoe Show Inc. will hold its annual Souper Bowl and Bake Sale fundraiser 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 19 at Forest Hill United Methodist Church, 25 Union St. N., Concord. Tickets are $10 and take out is available. Details: 704-782-7822.

Bednar Cosmetic Surgery

Ronald McDonald House: Bednar Cosmetic Surgery is collecting food, cleaning and toiletry items for the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte until Feb. 28. Each person who donates an item will receive a $25 gift certificate. Drop off items at 439 N. Wendover Road. Details: 704-366-6700.

Bechtler Museum of Modern Art

Annual gala: Bechtler Museum of Modern Art will hold its annual gala 7-11 p.m. Feb. 15 to benefit the museum. The theme, “The Game of Modern Love” celebrates the rapport, ardor, enduring partnerships and passionate affairs of modern artists. Shepherd’s Center of Charlotte

Excel class: The Shepherd’s Center of Charlotte will offer a Microsoft Excel class Feb. 13, 15 and 18 from 9 a.m.-noon each day at Southminster Retirement Community, 8919 Park Road. Intro to computing: The Shepherd’s Center of Charlotte will offer an Introduction to Computers class 9 a.m.-noon or 1-4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays Feb. 19-March 14 at Southminster Retirement Community, 8919 Park Road. There will be eight classes over four weeks, for three hours each day to teach seniors the basics of Windows, word processing, spreadsheet, internet and email. Teen Health Connection

Stand Up and Get Down: Teen Health Connection invites the public to Stand Up and Get Down for Teens 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at The Fillmore, 1000 NC Music Factory Blvd. Tickets are $100, with other packages available for larger groups. Big Brothers Big Sisters

Bowl for Kids: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte is recruiting teams for its annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake on Feb. 23 at 10 Park Lanes. Each team of five bowlers is asked to raise $625. Humane Society

Spayghetti dinner: The Humane Society of Concord & Greater Cabarrus County will host their sixth annual Spayghetti Dinner 5-8:30 p.m. March 2 at Hickory Ridge High School, 7321 Raging Ridge Road, Harrisburg.

Special guest, Chef Felicia Prichett, will showcase the talents of her Culinary Arts students by preparing gourmet pasta for this fundraiser. which benefits the spay and neuter efforts of the Humane Society of Concord.
