Police have arrested three men after an armed robbery Wednesday at a phone store in north Charlotte.

Jamel Christopher Hage, 25; Isaiah Stallworth, 20; and Jelani Burwell, 31; all face multiple charges, including robbery with a dangerous weapon. The men were being held Thursday morning in the Mecklenburg County jail.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the robbery occurred around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Cricket Mobile Store in the 5000 block of North Tryon Street.

Two store employees told police that masked suspects entered the store with a gun and ordered them to open the safe. The employees said they were unable to open the safe and the suspects then took money from cash registers in the store before fleeing in a car, according to a police spokesman.

An officer stopped a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the robbery a short time later on Hunter Oaks Lane, and arrested three men inside the car.

Anyone with more information about the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or visit http://charlottecrimestoppers.com
