    Friday

“Spank: The Fifty Shades Parody” at McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square (345 N. College St): It’s 50 shades of fun with this comical re-mix of “50 Shades of Grey.” Shows Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. $38.50. 704-372-1000.

Valentine’s Day is sneaking up on the calendar, and Charlotte’s nightlife industry is spreading the love with themed events and parties – perhaps to serve as a reminder for guys so they don’t forget to get a present.

Here are a few ways to celebrate this weekend, regardless of your relationship status.

Friday

Charlotte Mardi Gras at the EpiCentre (210 E. Trade St.): Charlotte’s own version of Bourbon Street, but we keep it classy – with this parade, you get beads just for going, and don’t have to act like a girl that puts the easy in Big Easy. Free. 7 p.m.-2 a.m. www.charlottemardigras.com.

Saturday

The 21st Annual Johnson Valentine Bash at Petra’s Piano Bar (1919 Commonwealth Ave.): Brothers Chris and Wes Johnson are spreading the love to raise money for R.A.I.N. Featuring music from Lindsey Ryan and Hardcore Lounge. 9 p.m. $5 donation. 704-332-6608.

Kazba’s 3-Year Anniversary Party (210 E. Trade St.): Featuring international electronic dance DJ/Producer Chris Lake. 10 p.m. $10. 704-761-6567.

Sunday

50 Shades Of Men Chippendales Show at Uptown Cabaret (108 E. Morehead St.): It’s like going to see “Magic Mike” – in 3-D. Doors open at 6 p.m.; ladies only until 11. $15 in advance, $20 at the door. 704-344-0802.

One more thing

Mez and the EpiCentre Theaters have closed. But if you do still want to go to a movie theater where you can wine and dine on Valentine’s Day, there’s Our Town Cinemas in Davidson (227 Griffith St., 704-237-3226), as well as Cinebarre in south Charlotte (8008 Providence Road, 704-543-4582).
