RALEIGH -- A power outage is causing problems for the second straight day with the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles.
The outage is affecting some of the DMV’s operations across the state, although a spokeswoman for the departments says the impact varies from office to office.
The power outage began about 11 a.m. Thursday. A spokeswoman for the DMV says the department’s headquarters in Raleigh probably will remain without power for the entire day Friday.
At last check, access to the DMV’s online services -- such as renewing registration tags and ordering replacement driver licenses -- is running normally. And the DMV is able to handle some tasks at its offices around the state.
But motorists are urged to call DMV offices before going there today, to make sure the service they need will be available.
