Andrew Vitkus earns Eagle Scout rank

Boy Scout Andrew Vitkus of Mooresville Troop 166 recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouts.

For his Eagle project, Andrew led a team that built picnic benches and trash-can receptacles for the outdoor dining area at Mount Mourne IB School. Andrew is a senior at the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics in Durham. Both of his parents serve as adult leaders in Troop 166, which meets at 7 p.m. every Monday at First Presbyterian Church. Joe Marusak
