A man who barricaded himself inside an east Charlotte apartment has been jailed after surrendering peacefully Monday morning, police say.

Shakeem Dickens, 18, locked himself inside a resident in the 5900 block of Farm Pond Lane, off Albemarle Road, when officers from CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team arrived about 8:15 a.m. to arrest him on robbery warrants. Police called in their SWAT unit, and they say Dickens surrendered a short time later.

No injuries were reported.
