MONROE -- A Raleigh man is jailed in Union County, accused of breaking into five vehicles during the past week.

Monroe police say Donald Richard Brogsdale III, 28, was arrested Monday, shortly after someone had broken into a vehicle at the Tumbleweeds Bar and Grille, in the 2300 block of West Roosevelt Boulevard. In that case, someone took a tool set and a large amount of cash.

Last Wednesday, four vehicles parked at the Hampton Inn, in the 2300 block of Roland Drive off U.S. 74, were burglarized.

In that case, the thief took several GPS units, clothing and alcoholic beverages. Police say all five vehicles in the break-ins were unlocked.

Brogsdale was charged by Monroe police with five counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle; four counts of misdemeanor larceny; one count of felony larceny; one count of marijuana possession; and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

He is jailed under $10,000 bond, police say.
