In sculpture, salt returns to the sea

The public is invited to the Mint Museum in uptown Charlotte to see the creation of a large “saltwork” by Japanese artist Motoi Yamamoto. The temporary sculpture will take shape daily through March 1. A completed viewing is March 1 at 6:30 p.m. and on March 2, before it's all disassembled on March 3.

The saltwork creation leads up to a Mint Museum exhibition, “Return to the Sea: Saltworks by Motoi Yamamoto,” March 2 through May 26. Staff reports
