Statistically speaking: Small businesses aiding in economic recovery

The Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy released its annual report, The Small Business Profile for States and Territories, on each state’s small businesses on Thursday. Here’s what it found:

79.1 percent of North Carolina small businesses had no employees in 2010.

1.5 million North Carolina workers were employed by small businesses in 2010.

55 million workers nationally were employed by small businesses in 2010.
