Four people were injured Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle collision in southwest Charlotte.

The wreck was reported about 6:15 a.m. at Shopton Road West and Steele Creek Road. Police say a car and an SUV collided, and the SUV overturned.

Four people were taken by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries. The wreck causes a big traffic jam in southwest Charlotte, with backups on both roads stretching for 2 miles at one point in the morning commute.
