Matchup to Watch

Greg Monroe vs. Bismack Biyombo: Monroe went for 18 points and 14 rebounds in their last meeting in Auburn Hills, though the Bobcats won in overtime.

Observations

• The Pistons’ trade of Tayshaun Prince to Memphis (part of the Rudy Gay-Jose Calderon deal) opened a starting spot for former Duke star Kyle Singler.

• The Pistons like what they’re getting from Calderon enough that Brandon Knight is playing lots of shooting guard. Detroit is looking to re-sign Calderon this summer.

• The Pistons lost promising rookie center Andre Drummond to a back injury for the rest of the season.

Tap-ins

• Biyombo had four or more blocks in five of the 12 games leading to the All-Star break.

• The Pistons won three of four heading into the break.

Did you know?

Rodney Stuckey fortified one of the NBA’s best benches – the Pistons reserves scored 85 points in December against the Hawks, the most bench points by one team in one game since 1999. Rick Bonnell
