Rock Hill worker clocks out $200K richer after lottery win

Staff Reports
The Herald

ROCK HILL At work a Rock Hill woman scratched a lottery ticket in the ladies restroom to win $200,000.

Her screams alerted the office.

“Everybody heard me shouting that I won and I’m getting a new house,” she confessed Tuesday when she cashed in the winning ticket in Columbia.

The winner, whose name was not released, told lottery officials she dropped by Brands Party Shop on Cherry Road on her lunch hour to buy scratch off ticket. She didn't have time to scratch the Aces High ticket, so she folded it and stuck it in her pocket. Near the end of the work day is when she discovered she won the next to last top prize in the game.

She clocked out $200,000 richer.

Coworkers yelled, “don’t forget me,” as she made her exit.

Odds of winning $200,000 playing Aces High are 1 in 462,857.14.

For selling the claimed ticket, Brands Party Shop in Rock Hill received a commission of $2,000.
