One person is dead and two others are in the hospital after a multi-car wreck on Brookshire Boulevard in west Charlotte.
The crash happened sometime before 8:20 p.m. in the 3600 block of Brookshire Boulevard.
Emergency crews responded and pronounced one person dead at the scene. Medic transported another victim with potentially life-threatening injuries to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A third patient was taken to Presbyterian with non-life-threatening injuries.
Brookshire Boulevard was shut down in both directions at 9 p.m. as police investigated.
Few details about the crash were immediately available Wednesday evening.
