Congestion and collisions are causing problems for Charlotte-area motorists at 8:50 a.m. Thursday.
The latest problem is on northbound I-77 near the John Belk Freeway.
Here is the 8:50 a.m. update:
I-77 northbound, south Charlotte ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph from Carowinds Boulevard to Woodlawn Road. Also, a collision in the right lane near the John Belk Freeway is slowing traffic back to Remount Road.
I-77 southbound, Lake Norman area ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph from near Mooresville down to Exit 23 in Huntersville.
I-485 inner loop, south Mecklenburg ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-25 mph from Providence Road to South Boulevard; moving 20-30 mph from South Boulevard to I-77.
I-85 southbound, Cabarrus County ... Congestion; traffic moving 15-20 mph from N.C. 73 to I-485.
Independence Boulevard inbound ... Congestion; traffic moving 10-20 mph from Village Lake Drive to Idlewild Road.
Mallard Creek Church Road near I-85 ... Collision reported about 8:20 a.m.; minor delays.
Alleghany Street at Wilkinson Boulevard ... Collision reported at 8:15 a.m.; minor delays.
Sardis Road at Sardis Road North ... Collision reported at 8:30 a.m.; moderate delays on both roads.
Billy Graham Parkway at West Boulevard ... Disabled vehicle slowing traffic on both roads.
Browne Road at Eastfield Road ... Collision reported at 8:40 a.m.; minor to moderate delays.
