Civil War display: Mooresville recently accepted a $7,500 matching grant from the Lowe’s Community and Charitable Foundation for special exhibit cases for a Civil War exhibit at the Mooresville Public Library in March. The library has spent $3,695 for the project and will spend $3,805 more.
Wit lecture: In advance of the opening of Davidson Community Players’ production of Margaret Edson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, “Wit,” Anthony Abbott, professor emeritus of English at Davidson College, will preview the play at 4 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour St., Davidson. Through his remarks, titled “Donne, Death, and the Doctors: the Elements of Wit,” he’ll discuss the themes in the play, including the role of poetry by John Donne.
