BOILING SPRINGS -- A resident escaped injury, but his two dogs died in a fire that heavily damaged a house Thursday night in Cleveland County, fire officials say.
The fire was reported shortly after 8 p.m. in the 1900 block of Burke Road. That is about 2 1/2 miles south of College Avenue (N.C. 150) and southeast of Boiling Springs.
Investigators are working to determine a cause of the blaze.
