Our valentine's day dinner was a rip-roaring success! Homemade food always trumps restaurant food. Always.
On the home front, we are about to make an offer on a little brick home that we absolutely adore. I wish you could come and behold the wonder. It's a two bedroom, two bath home with a knock-you-off-your-feet living/dining room, stunning hardwoods throughout, and wood paneling, parquet floors that would send jaws dropping.
Just kidding about the wood paneling and parquet floor. That's gotta go.
I am a HGTV junkie. Property Brothers, Love it or List it, House Hunters, you name it, I'm watching it. Because of my obsession with these shows, I had always dreamt of getting a fixer upper, rolling up my sleeves, getting down and dirty in home repairs. We found a doozy of a home that was built in 1901. It's got character oozing from every square inch of the home but it's in dire need of updating and restoring. Jason and I were so pumped about this home but we quickly realized that as a new couple with a new home and jobs, we wouldn't be able to handle all that a restoration project like that would entail. We kept looking, found this current home, and fell in love. It's got enough of a renovation project I'm happy with without breaking budgets which Jason loves.
We're learning a lot through this whole process which is both fun and scary. Fun in that it's our first, own place and scary in the fact that it's our first, own place. We would love some advice if you have it!
