Steve Wilkerson went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBIs to lead Clemson to a 5-3 win against Wright State in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday.
Five Tigers pitchers combined to shut out Wright State in Clemson’s 6-0 in the second game.
The Tigers, who took a 2-0 lead in the series, improved to 4-1 on the season. The Raiders dropped to 3-2.
North Carolina 11, Stony Brook 2: The Tar Heels (4-0) scored eight runs through the first four innings en route to a series-opening win against Stony Brook (0-4) at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill.
Kent Emanuel (2-0) allowed two runs – one earned – over seven innings of work. Emanuel racked up eight strikeouts in his second start of the year.
N.C. State 5, La Salle 0: Carlos Rodon and Karl Keglovits combined to no-hit La Salle in Raleigh. Rodon (1-1) torched La Salle for a career-high 14 strikeouts in seven innings. Keglovits pitched a perfect eighth and ninth to seal the first Wolfpack no-hitter since Gib Hobson pulled the feat on March 12, 2005 in an 11-1 win over Maryland.
Big South
Gardner-Webb 7, Morehead St. 0 (Game 1): Matt Fraudin combined with three other Gardner-Webb pitchers for a three-hit shutout of Morehead State in Boiling Springs.
Gardner-Webb 3, Morehead St. 2 (Game 2): Henry Rundio’s walk-off single with the bases loaded lifted Gardner-Webb (5-0-1) to a win against Morehead State.
Presbyterian 3, N.C. Central 2: The Eagles pounded 12 hits, but left 10 runners stranded, including the potential game-tying run at third base in the ninth inning, before falling in Durham.
N.C. Central fell to 3-1 while Presbyterian improved to 2-4.
Southern
Appalachian State, Butler split twinbill: Jamie Nunn and Alex Leach led Appalachian State to a 6-2 victory over visiting Butler in the first game of a doubleheader but the Mountaineers committed five errors in a 12-7 loss to the Bulldogs in the nightcap of the twinbill in Boone.
With the doubleheader split, Appalachian State went to 3-1 on the season and Butler moved to 2-3.

Charlotte: The 49ers added a home game Monday at noon against Marshall to replace the third of three lost games due to snow in the opening weekend. The 49ers have 999 program wins in their 35th year of collegiate baseball.
Wingate 6, Lenoir-Rhyne 3: Catcher Josh Clark connected on a grand slam in the fifth inning, leading the Bulldogs past the visiting Bears.
