June Atkinson, the superintendent of the N.C. Department of Public Instruction, presented Superintendent Mark Edwards with a banner recognizing the school system as a N.C. Innovator In Digital Learning during a Feb. 13 visit to South Elementary.Atkinson and other state officials met with South Elementary Principal Debbie Marsh for a briefing on the school’s digital conversion program, then toured some of the school’s third-grade classrooms to see the project in action.
