Mooresville Graded School District “Digital Conversion program: The program, which aims to put laptop computers in the hands of every student and other electronic aids in each classroom, has picked up another honor. June Atkinson, the superintendent of the N.C. Department of Public Instruction, presented Superintendent Mark Edwards with a banner recognizing the school system as a N.C. Innovator In Digital Learning during a Feb. 13 visit to South Elementary.Atkinson and other state officials met with South Elementary Principal Debbie Marsh for a briefing on the school’s digital conversion program, then toured some of the school’s third-grade classrooms to see the project in action. Kindergarten registration: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. March 8 at Mooresville ARP Church at the corner of Magnolia Street and Carpenter Avenue in Mooresville. Children who turn age 5 on or before Aug. 31 can register. The parents or guardians of the incoming kindergarteners are required to bring the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, Social Security card and proof of residence within the Mooresville Graded School District. Accepted documents showing such proof of residency are utility bills, a lease or rental agreement, or similar documents.
