Matchup to Watch

Kemba Walker vs. Chris Paul: Walker has assembled a string of four games with 20 or more points in each. Paul is about as good a scorer, but more of a facilitator than Walker.

Observations

• Bobcats forward Byron Mullens is in a brutal slump; in his past two games he’s shooting 2-of-21 from the field and has totaled six points and nine rebounds.

• On the other hand, Bobcats center Bismack Biyombo has shown some growth in the past two, totaling 21 rebounds, 16 points and five blocks.

• This game matches two of the best bench scorers in the league: The Clippers’ Jamal Crawford has 21 games of 20 or more points this season as a reserve. Charlotte’s Ramon Sessions has 13 games of 20 points or more.

Tap-in

• Two Clippers are first and second in the NBA in dunks. Blake Griffin has 136 this season., while DeAndre Jordan has 120.

The Clippers have benefitted from starting Chauncey Billups as their off-guard. That puts two quality ball-handlers/passers on the court together frequently.

Did you know?

The Clippers are one of the West’s dominant teams this season, but that’s clearly not the case historically. This is just the ninth time in their history – dating back to when they were the Buffalo Braves in 1970 – that the Clippers have reached 40 victories in a season.
