ROCK HILL An 8-year-old Rosewood Elementary School student won’t face charges after police say he brought a knife on the school bus Monday.

Police were called to the elementary school and met with a school official who said the boy had a knife while on the school bus, according to a Rock Hill Police report. The boy allegedly showed the knife to several students and placed it in his book bag.

A police officer confiscated the knife, the report states, and school administration handled disciplinary actions.

Because he’s too young to be arrested, formal charges weren’t filed against the boy, Rock Hill Police Lt. Brad Redfearn said.
