Report: Man robbed at gunpoint outside of uptown

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Wednesday were searching for a suspect who attempted to rob a man on North College Street just outside of uptown Charlotte.

An 18-year-old man was robbed on the street in the 600 block of North College around 9 p.m., according to a police report.

The report shows that a suspect approached the man from behind, shoved him to the ground and held what the victim believed to be a handgun to his head.

The suspect demanded items from the victim’s pockets but the reports doesn’t list anything as stolen.

After the suspect left, the victim went to Carolinas Medical Center in Dilworth for treatment for bruises and scrapes.

Police Wednesday evening had not made any arrests in the case.
