Now the party really gets going.
Day 4 of CIAA Tournament Week in Charlotte on Thursday will include a skating party, a career expo, a health seminar, plenty of unofficial parties ... and a bit of basketball.
Activities will be scattered across two counties Thursday, when the number of out-of-town guests arriving in Charlotte for the tournament increases greatly.
The CIAA College Career Expo at the Charlotte Convention Center is open to students and alumni of CIAA schools. Dozens of prospective employers will be on hand to conduct interviews and offer information. Those employers include the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, Charlotte Fire Department, several school systems and Lowes Home Improvement.
The CIAA Old School Skating Party is Thursday night at Kates Skating Rink in Indian Trail. Its open to people 21 and older.
And the Food Lion Health and Wellness Symposium begins a three-day run at Time-Warner Cable Arena. Visitors can attend a Teen Summit, receive health and wellness information and participate in hands-on health-related activities.
The basketball schedule features four mens quarterfinal games, including the first appearance of the Johnson C. Smith University team. The Golden Bulls play in the 1 p.m. opener against Elizabeth City State.
A transit reminder Charlotte Area Transit System will run its free Gold Rush Red Line service from 6:30 a.m. to midnight, between the Johnson C. Smith University campus and the intersection of East Fourth and McDowell streets.
