Dispute leads to west Charlotte shooting

A dispute in a west Charlotte parking lot resulted in a shooting nearby that left one man wounded overnight, police say.

The incident began after 2 a.m. Thursday in a lot along West Boulevard. Police say the occupants of the two vehicles got into an argument over a minor traffic collision, and the dispute flared a short time later when the two cars came to a stop on Old Steele Creek Road.

The driver of one car said a man in the other car, described as a silver Mazda 626 with scratches, fired a shot. The driver was wounded in the arm, and he told police the other car drove off.

The injured man was treated at Carolinas Medical Center. No arrests have been announced in the case.
