Every local brewery boasts something to set it apart from the rest, but the plans for Free Range Brewing may be the citys most innovative yet. Blending a passion for farming and brewing, brothers Jason and Jeff Alexander have concocted attention-grabbing beers with names like Hoppy Camper and Afternoon Delight for events such as NoDas Queen City Brewers Festival. Now, the pair intends to launch a Plaza Midwood farm-to-table, family-friendly brewpub where dishes and drinks alike will have their roots in local gardens (think beers made with local figs or sweet potatoes). While the spot is still in the planning stages, the brothers arent slowing on their creativeand tastybrewing. We look for life inspiration for the beer, says Jason, who hopes to open within the next year. All of our beers have a story. Look for Free Range Brewing collaborations at Birdsong Brewing and local festivals. www.freerangebrewing.com Sarah Crosland
