Lunch and Learn
The Mecklenburg Extension Master Gardeners host free lunch and learn forums from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays in February and March. Bring a lunch and gardening questions to the forums, at Mecklenburg County Extension offices, 1418 Armory Drive. Each session will include a 30 minute presentation.
The March 13 topic is “The Dirt on Worm Composting.” Extension master gardener Carol Carraux will give instruction on how to create worm bins.
The March 27 topic is “Run for the Roses.” Extension master gardener and rosarian Elizabeth Geppert will provide information on selecting, planting and maintaining roses using simple, safe methods.

Daylily Club
The Piedmont Daylily Club will meet at 9 a.m. at Carmel Presbyterian Church, 2048 Carmel Road. Larry Mellichamp, director of the UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens, will discuss the winter garden. Visitors are welcome. Details: piedmontdaylilyclub.com.

Camellia Society Show
The 31st annual Charlotte Camellia Society Show will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. at BlackLion, 10605 Park Road, Pineville. This free, public show will feature information on planting and care, and society members will sell camellias. Details: www.camellias-acs.com.
