The winner: When you’re traveling and don’t have shaving cream, there’s an easy solution. On a lark I tried shaving using plain hair conditioner. It was superior and most hotels have free bottles in all the rooms. It’s darn convenient. Bolyn McClung, Pineville

Free pot scrubber

I reuse the plastic mesh bags oranges come in and the rubber band that holds bunches of broccoli together. Once the oranges are in a bowl, I roll the bag into a ball about the size of a lemon. To keep it together, I put the rubber band around the middle and use the ball as a disposable pot scrubber. It work as well, if not better, than the ones you buy. Karen Stutts, Lancaster, S.C.

New use for pizza cutter

Cutting up my daughter’s pancakes and waffles with a knife or fork was tedious until I figured out a better way: pizza cutter. It works on different kinds of food and saves time and aggravation. Jeana Reynolds, Charlotte
