An Atlanta woman has filed a lawsuit against Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan, claiming the couple has a 16-year-old son.

In the suit filed on Feb. 6, Pamela Smith claims she and MJ had a son while Jordan was married to now ex-wife Juanita. Smith is arguing she gave birth to Grant Pierce Jay Jordan Reynolds in 1996 after having sex with the basketball legend in 1995.

Smith, who lives in Atlanta with the teen, is fighting for child support and medical expenses related to the son, according to the lawsuit obtained by WCNC-TV, the Observer’s news partner. She also wants the 16-year-old’s last name changed to ’Jordan.’

The Bobcats owner recently purchased a $2.8 million home on Lake Norman and is engaged to model Yvette Prieto.

Jordan was married for 17 years to Juanita, but the couple divorced in 2006. They have three children.

Publicist Estee Portnoy says Jordan has no comment and calls to Smith’s home and office were not immediately returned Friday afternoon.

According to court documents, Smith does not have an attorney and a court date is scheduled for March 12. The Associated Press contributed.
